In the gallery “Master” (Mayakovskogo Street, 4) until March 22, the XII International Exhibition of Artistic Felt “New Life of Traditions” is being held, the correspondent of “Rosbalt” reports. Masters working in different felt techniques present their works, which are united by the theme of well-known and beloved literary works.
Among the exhibits are a felt-textile portrait of Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin, created by the artist Svetlana Ospishcheva, a special project “Literary Hero”, which presents the heroes of fairy tales and classical works, a mini-performance with felt puppets “Kotofey Ivanovich”. You can also see several design series here – “A Book in a Bag”, demonstrating references to literature in the design of bags and backpacks, “A Footprint in History”, dedicated to the theme of felt shoes that heroes of works from different eras could wear, “It’s in the Hat” – whimsical headdresses based on literary motives.
In addition, the program includes master classes on working with wool and felt – “painting” with wool, dry felting, artistic dyeing of wool.
Let us add that the Master Gallery is part of the home of the Master Class International Cultural Support Fund, which for thirty years has been organizing major events and actions in Russia and abroad, supporting cultural and art figures. The gallery hosts exhibitions of Russian and foreign artists and designers, concerts and other events.
