A body with several bullet wounds was found on Friday night, March 18, in one of the streets of the El Recreo neighborhood, in Puyo. This caused shock and concern of the residents of the sector, who stated that these kinds of events are not common.
The captain of the National Police Marco Navas explained that at 9:45 p.m. on Friday, through ECU911, an alert was received about shots fired in the Anturios street sector, in the South 3 sector, before which police units advanced and located a body lying on the road.

He commented that they immediately called the Pastaza Fire Department and that after performing first aid, it was verified that the body was without vital signs.
According to the first investigations, it was determined that the murdered man is Bryan GM, 24, of Venezuelan nationality, who has no criminal record. Prosecutor Amílcar Antun arrived at the scene to remove the body.
Navas said that the investigative units such as Criminalistics and Dinased (National Directorate of Investigation of Crimes Against Life, Violent Deaths, Disappearances, Kidnapping and Extortion) were then requested to advance in order to find the alleged perpetrators of the act.
The evidence found includes: two 9mm caliber cases, three 9mm cartridges.
The officer commented that due to the evidence found at the scene, it is presumed that the murder was a hitman type, since the victim’s belongings were not taken.
He said that two subjects would be involved in the incident who were later picked up by a vehicle a few meters later, and that the investigative units are seeking to determine the characteristics of the vehicle in which they would have fled.
Navas commented that the victim had several impacts from firearm projectiles. He had two wounds on the left side of the occipital region, two in the lower third of the right forearm.

He stated that from the moment of the event, all the corresponding protocol was activated, in order to carry out operations to locate the first indications of the vehicle, as well as in the work of the versions and witnesses with the Prosecutor’s Office in order to give with the authors. (I)
