There will be no collapse in the Russian economy due to sanctions imposed by the West. This was announced in the Telegram channel by Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev.
“The government has already taken prompt decisions to support our people and the economy: social payments, additional financing of high-tech industries, agriculture, the banking sector – in general, there will be no collapse in the economy,” he said.
According to Medvedev, the sanctions previously imposed on Russia benefited the country.
Medvedev denies that Russia could end up in a “total blockade.” He also clarified that Western companies “quietly tell us something like“ we really want to return, but we are afraid.
“When words are on one side of the scale and real money is on the other, the latter outweighs. Although our stock of patience here is obviously limited. We need to develop our production where we have not done so yet,” he added.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a special military operation in Ukraine. Sanctions have begun to be imposed on Russia, foreign firms, including manufacturers of well-known world brands, are making statements about a temporary or complete “withdrawal” from the Russian market (cessation of production, suspension of investments or activities in the Russian Federation), reacting to the events in Ukraine and sanctions Western countries against Russia.
