In the context of the conflict in Ukraine, Bulgaria will not negotiate with Gazprom on a new gas supply agreement. This, according to TASS, was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Bulgaria Asen Vasilev in an interview with the Bulgarian National Radio.
The current agreement between Bulgaria and Gazprom expires on December 31, 2022.
Vassilev noted that Sofia has alternatives to a new agreement with Gazprom – there is the possibility of gas supplies via the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline. Its throughput capacity is about 20 billion cubic meters. m, while Bulgaria needs about 3 billion cubic meters. m.
