The head of the National Fitness Community, Elena Silina, turned to the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin with a request to extend measures to support the IT sector to the sports and recreation industry.
Silina, according to TASS, believes that it is necessary, among others, to support manufacturers of equipment and inventory “given the importance of this industry for maintaining the physical and mental health of the nation in an unstable time.”
As Elena explained in a commentary for TASS, in Russia the production of sports equipment was introduced relatively recently and “still lags behind both in quality and technology”, the rest is produced abroad.
Russian IT companies were reported to be exempt from paying income tax and inspections for three years. They will be able to take loans at a reduced rate – no more than 3%. Their employees will be able to apply for a preferential mortgage and receive a deferment from conscription for the duration of work.
