In total, at the moment, the sanctions of the Japanese authorities, which include, in particular, the freezing of assets in Japan and the ban on financial transactions, already affect 76 individuals and 12 companies from the Russian Federation.

Australia also announced the introduction of new sanctions against two Russian entrepreneurs who own assets and shares of Australian companies, and against 11 Russian banks. According to Foreign Minister Maris Payne, targeted financial sanctions and bans on entry into Australia have been introduced against Oleg Deripaska and Viktor Vekselberg. Also, according to her, “banks that account for approximately 80% of all banking assets in the Russian Federation” fell under the sanctions, including Sberbank, Gazprombank, Alfa-Bank and others.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin made an emergency appeal to the Russians and announced a special military operation in the Donbass.
