Around noon this Thursday, March 17, the lifeless body of Mishel Quille, 12, was found, who was swept away by the current of the Chinguilanchi ravine last Tuesday, March 15, around 3:00 p.m., as a result of a downpour accompanied by an electrical storm that fell on the basin of Lojana.
The minor helped her grandmother with housework. They were trying to prevent the animals in her herd from being affected by the torrential downpour.

Seconds later, the girl and her grandmother were surprised by the water from the eastern slope, and were swept away. The grandmother was able to grab hold of a willow, but the minor did not have the same luck.
From that moment, his relatives and neighbors alerted the rescue entities, for which a search operation was activated from the Chinguilanchi ravine sector to the bottom at the Zamora River crossing.
Dozens of people and machinery worked day and night digging and exploring the bed of the ravine, trying to find some indication, however, that did not happen.
For Wednesday, March 16, the search extended to the limits of the province of Loja and Zamora Chinchipe, crossing the Zamora River to the east, but there were no results either.
Drones and inflatable boats began to be used from this Thursday morning on around 38 kilometers of travel where it was suspected the body of the minor could be, but neither the technology nor the people specialized in rescue and search could find Mishel.
It was Luis Tenesaca, a resident of the Chinguilanchi neighborhood, a neighbor and friend of the minor’s family, who decided to walk, leaning on a stick, heading north in search of the minor.
He traveled at least 5 kilometers on foot, the same distance that the body of the unfortunate girl was dragged. “I dreamed last night that I found her, I told my family that I’m going to find her and that’s how it was. The first thing I did was tell someone to call the fire department so they could come see, we were only about two more people looking on this side and I found it by myself,” Tenesaca said, visibly affected.
The minor was found about 100 meters away from the normal course of the Zamora River towards the eastern sector, in front of the northern Sauces sector, where she did not advance further, as her body was entangled between the fence and the rubble.
This shows that the rise of the river was very large, since all the land until this Thursday was wet and muddy.

Family members arrived at the scene and saw Mishel’s body covered with a Fire Department jacket. Then more rescuers arrived to verify the situation.
According to Governor Mario Mancino, the funeral and burial expenses of the minor will be covered by the Jaramillo funeral home, and parents will begin to see what work can help them. (I)
