Quevedo, THE RIVERS
With three bullet wounds, it was as hitmen that they took the life of John Augusto Palacios Rivera.
The 26-year-old victim was murdered this Thursday morning, March 17, when he was on his way to work on a bicycle.

The noise of the bullets alerted the inhabitants of Bolivia and Colombia streets, in the parish of San Camilo, de Quevedo, in Los Ríos.
Later, the man was taken to a health home in that city. But, a few minutes after his admission, the doctors confirmed his death.
William Martínez, colonel of the Los Ríos Subzone, reported that the deceased is a relative of an official who works at the Quevedo Penitentiary Center, and that this would be the second time that they attempted against his life. In addition, he stated that the victim had no criminal record.
Meanwhile, the crime of Yuri Pérez Carranza, 55, was recorded around 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the Galo Plaza sector of the 24 de Mayo parish.
The man, who was an official of the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), Quevedo district, was traveling in a white vehicle.
The Police reported that the victim does not have a criminal record and that, apparently, his crime would have been by mistake, since the car in which he was traveling had tinted windows and that would have confused the hit men.
“Before dying, the victim hits a wall, once he loses control. The murderers confuse the vehicle, since they presumed that it was intelligence agents, because that is how they identify themselves. We have already had attacks in similar circumstances,” said the chief of the Los Ríos Subzone Police.

At the scene, the police collected more than 20 ballistic evidence; three of these were the ones that took Yuri Pérez’s life.
There are already 65 violent deaths recorded in Los Ríos. Compared to those of the same quarter of 2021, when 16 were raised, there are 49 more crimes, according to figures from the National Police. (I)
