The European Union has introduced a new package of personal and economic sanctions in connection with the situation in Ukraine. The corresponding document was published on Tuesday in the Official Journal of the EU and entered into force.
The sanctions imply a ban on investments in the energy sector of the Russian Federation, however, exceptions are made for peaceful nuclear power and transportation of energy resources to the EU. In addition, restrictions have been introduced on trade with the Russian Federation in iron and steel and on the supply of luxury goods, cars more expensive than 50 thousand euros.
New personalities from among Russian entrepreneurs and media people have been added to the EU “black list”.
For example, sanctions are imposed against Channel One CEO Konstantin Ernst, Yandex CEO Tigran Khudaverdyan, journalist Artem Sheinin, businessman Roman Abramovich, head of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Alexander Shokhin, Alfa Group shareholder German Khan, and Rosoboronexport CEO Alexander Mikheev. , the main shareholder of the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) Viktor Rashnikov, senator and businessman Suleiman Kerimov.
In total, the personal list includes 15 individuals and 9 legal entities: Rosneft-Aero, Rosoboronexport, NPO High Precision Complexes, Kurganmashzavod, Russian Helicopters, United Aircraft Corporation, United Shipbuilding Corporation, Uralvagonzavod, Zelenodolsk plant named after Gorky.
It is noteworthy that, according to the service for tracking the location of ships Goradar, the Solaris yacht owned by Abramovich left the port of Montenegro against the backdrop of the announcement of new EU sanctions.
