The American pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly decided to limit the supply of drugs to Russia. According to RBC, the company will continue to import only vital drugs into the country, such as medicines for cancer and diabetes patients.

In addition, the company is temporarily halting all investments, advertising campaigns and new clinical trials in the Russian Federation.

As noted in the message of the company, the proceeds from sales in Russia will be donated to organizations involved in the provision of humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.

Earlier, the suspension of investments in Russia was announced by the German and American pharmaceutical companies Pfizer and Bayer. At the same time, for ethical reasons, they will continue to supply medicines to the Russian Federation. Refusal of supplies, the companies said in a statement, will lead to patient suffering and potential loss of life, especially among children and the elderly.

On February 24, the Russian Federation launched a special operation to protect the LDNR, which was preceded by the recognition of the independence of the people’s republics by Moscow. President Vladimir Putin said that “circumstances require Russia to act decisively” and that it will not allow Kyiv to acquire nuclear weapons. Following this, Western countries began to impose the most severe anti-Russian sanctions.
