The situation around Ukraine did not affect the work of the ISS. According to TASS, this was stated at a press conference by the head of the American ISS program, Joel Montalbano. According to him, NASA continues contacts with Roskosmos on the current work of the ISS.

“We continue to plan cross-flights, we have cosmonaut training in Houston in the United States, and our team will fly to Star City to prepare for flights on the Soyuz,” Montalbano said.

According to him, work on the ISS has been going on for 20 years and nothing has changed over the past three weeks. He noted that NASA also maintains contacts with Roscosmos on the return of American cosmonauts from the ISS.

“Independent operation of the Russian and American segments on the ISS is impossible, which is why we can work,” Montalbano emphasized.

Earlier, the head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, announced that the United States would lose about $4 billion due to counter-sanctions announced by Russia – refusal to supply rocket engines to the United States. According to him, the damage caused to the British company OneWeb, whose satellite launch was refused by Roscosmos, will be even more – about $8 billion.
