They seize 498 blocks of drugs in a ship that left Guayaquil for Panama

Fourteen packages and two suitcases containing 498 blocks of substances subject to control were found on board a ship that left Guayaquil and arrived in Panama. This vessel sailed on March 12.

The National Directorate of Aquatic Spaces of the Ecuadorian Navy reported that the capture of this cargo is due to a coordinated action with the control and security units of Panama.

Due to the suspicion that the merchant ship may have been contaminated in the Gulf of Guayaquil, on March 12, the Ecuadorian Navy ordered the deputy commander of the North Coast Guard to use his means to guard the ship during its navigation route.

Later, the Navy coordinated with Panamanian authorities to carry out an exhaustive search, for which 498 blocks of controlled substances were found.
