Prisoners collaborated in cleaning minga at Las Palmas beach, in Esmeraldas

Collection of bottles, weeds, wood debris and other types of waste was the activity of some thirty prisoners in the Las Palmas spa, located in the north of the city of Esmeraldas, on the morning of this Monday, March 14.

The participants are inmates close to being released and who have served their sentences for various reasons at the Esmeraldas Prison Center (CPL No. 2).

With shovels, tools and plastic covers, a large area of ​​the beach of this resort in the capital of Esmeraldeña was cleaned.

With police protection and prison guides, the inmates fulfilled this social work and reintegration into society, starting at 09:00 this Monday.

Some were visited by relatives who took advantage of that meeting on the beach.

Others said that after a few months they visited the Las Palmas resort again, which was not possible due to the fact that they had been sentenced by court.

Machinery from the Municipality of Esmeraldas lifted the material collected in bags to take it to the municipal dump.
