Following an attack by pirates on the high seas, two fishermen were killed and another sustained gunshot wounds, off the coast of the El Matal fishing port, belonging to the Jama canton, this Sunday, March 13.
The wounded man was transferred to the health center of said town and later to the Miguel Hilario Alcívar hospital, in Bahía de Caráquez, due to the seriousness of his condition.

The president of the Crucita parish, Andrea Delgado, reported that one of the deceased was known as Pirate; the other victim was identified as Wilfrido Chinga Delgado.
Both are from the Los Arenales sector of said parish. The official said that the insecurity suffered by fishermen is daily.
The Facebook page of the Fishing Sector of Ecuador reported that Pirate They threw him into the sea and Chinga’s body was taken to the El Matal fishing port, in the Jama canton.
