The head of the Velsky district, Andrei Gulyaev, announced the death during a military special operation in Ukraine, a native of the Arkhangelsk region, contract soldier Dmitry Chernakov. Gulyaev expressed condolences to the family and friends of the deceased in the official community of the district administration in social networks.

Earlier, Gulyaev announced the death in Ukraine of a native of the Konosha region, a sergeant of the Russian army, Anatoly Shchekoldin.

Vladimir Putin said that more than 7 million rubles would be paid to family members of servicemen who died in the operation in Ukraine; the wounded will receive an additional payment of 3 million rubles.
