Mironov opposed the bill to ban the publication of declarations of officials subject to sanctions

Sergei Mironov, head of the faction of the Just Russia for Truth party in the State Duma, considers the draft law submitted to the Duma to be incorrect, which allows not posting on the Internet declarations of Russian officials who were sanctioned by the United States and other “unfriendly” states.

Mironov recalled that he himself has been under Western sanctions since the spring of 2014, however, in his opinion, this should not become a reason for any concessions and benefits.

The chairman of the party considers untenable the argument that this initiative will prevent the possibility of pressure on the persons who submitted the declarations, as well as on their family members.

“It is not clear what kind of pressure we are talking about. Maybe the information in the declaration raises questions, but then the sanctions obviously have nothing to do with it and it’s not worth hiding behind them. If someone intends to profitably sell their patriotism and civic position, we will not indulge this shameful trade and oppose the bill, ”said Sergei Mironov.

Recall that State Duma deputy Vladislav Reznik submitted a draft law to the State Duma prohibiting the disclosure of personal data of officials under anti-Russian sanctions.

The bill proposes to limit the disclosure of personal information of officials and employees of bodies and organizations that fell under the sanctions, which could still be published on official websites and in the media. At the same time, personal information is proposed to include, among other things, information about employment, family composition, the presence of minor children, as well as real estate, vehicles, their expenses, etc.

Reznik believes that the ban on the publication of data will not interfere with the implementation of the state’s anti-corruption policy, since officials are required by law to report on their income and expenses.
