The Municipality of Quito announced Resolution AQ 010-2022 that decrees new restrictions in the capital regarding COVID-19. In addition, it was resolved change of epidemiological alert from yellow (medium) to green (low). With this, the restriction rules and permitted capacity are modified.
The measure came into force this Thursday March 10 of 2022.
The decision comes after the report issued by the Ministry of Health on the epidemiological situation in the capital regarding the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the latest report issued by the Secretary of Health of Quito, the afternoon of Wednesday, March 9, there is a decrease in cases and hospital occupation in the capital. Until week 9, which corresponds from February 27 to March 5, they report an accumulated 283,525 confirmed positive cases, 3,580 confirmed deaths and 381 probable deaths with the virus.

The capacity in the different activities carried out in the capital will be as follows:
- Bars and clubs, centers of tolerance and nightlife They will be able to function with restricted capacity of 90% outdoors and 80% indoors.
- Malls (including food courts), supermarkets and markets with 100% capacity.
- banking agencies and corporate with 100% capacity.
- Restaurants: inside 90% and outside 100%.
- Cinemas and theaters with 100% capacity.
- gyms without contact activities with 100% and those intended for the practice of sports and/or contact activities with 80%.
- Auditoriums, convention centers, tourist accommodation (in spaces where events are held) and reception and banquet rooms when corporate and academic events are held -MICE: 95% indoors and 100% outdoors.
- Auditoriums, convention centers, tourist accommodation (in the spaces where events are held) and the reception and banquet rooms when they hold social events: interior 90% and exterior 100%.
- Public shows (except fairs and MICE events) with 90% capacity indoors and 100% capacity outdoors. (I)
