Roskomnadzor demanded that the administration of the social network TikTok immediately remove the restrictions imposed on the video recording of the address of Russian President Vladimir Putin and explain the reasons for these restrictions. This was reported on the website of the department.

According to the RKN, the administration of the social network has restricted access to the audio track of the video with Putin’s address for foreign users. These actions, the regulator notes, violate the key principles of free dissemination of information and unhindered access to it.

Recall that on March 6, the social network TikTok announced a temporary ban on publishing new videos and live broadcasts to Russian users due to the law on “fake news”. The company’s management explained in a statement that the decision was made for the “safety of employees and users.”

The social network is ready to resume its services in Russia, taking into account “changing circumstances”. Earlier, Roskomnadzor demanded that TikTok remove military or political content from recommendations for minors.

We also recall that on March 4, the President of the Russian Federation signed a law on criminal liability for fakes about the Russian Armed Forces and for calls for anti-Russian sanctions. The maximum penalty under Article 207.3 (“Public dissemination of knowingly false information about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation”) is 15 years in prison.
