However, today the sky of Quito looks clear and with it the sun’s rays illuminated the streets of the city. According to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inamhi), there will be high solar radiation at noon this Wednesday, March 9 and Thursday, March 10 of 2022.
Christian Paliz, Inamhi forecast and warning specialist, assured that in the inter-Andean alley there will be greater solar radiation, although the rainfall will still be light to moderate intensity and in specific places there will even be heavy rainfall in the afternoon and evening.
The official also explained that the temperature is within normal. about the feeling of cold that was felt on Tuesday, March 8, argued that it is due to large amount of clouds and humidity, which prevented the sun’s rays from entering.
“We usually have partly cloudy sky and the sun’s rays warm the ground of the city, especially at noon, that’s why the thermal sensation that was felt was colder in the city”, he added.
According to Paliz, normally in Quito the midday temperature ranges between 21 and 23 degrees Celsius. On these cloudy days there were temperatures around 17 degrees and the cold was felt more intensely in the higher areas of the city.
The recommendation is use sunscreen in the morning and avoid exposure to direct sunlight, especially at noon. You can also bring warm clothes for the afternoon and evening when the temperature can drop. (I)
