Stores in Russia are temporarily closed by the French cosmetics manufacturer L’Oreal. There will also be no sales of the company’s products in the country through online stores, according to Reuters.

In addition, the company will suspend investments in production and advertising in Russia.

Note that L’Oreal produces cosmetics and perfumes under the brands Garnier, Maybelline New York, Lancome, Vichy.

Earlier, Estee Lauder, which owns the brands MAC, Clinique and Bobbi Brown, was going to close stores in Russia.

The decision was made against the background of the Russian special operation in Ukraine and the subsequent Western sanctions.

Recall that on February 21, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees recognizing the independence of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR), and on February 24 he made an emergency appeal to the Russians and announced a special military operation in Donbass. In his speech, he stated that “circumstances require decisive action from Russia” and stressed that “Russia will not allow Ukraine to have nuclear weapons.”
