NATO does not want conflict with Russia. This was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, reports TASS.

He noted that NATO has a responsibility to prevent further escalation of the conflict. To do this, the alliance undertook a historic strengthening of the collective security system and sent thousands of soldiers to the lines.

NATO is ready to defend “every inch of the alliance’s territory,” Stoltenberg said.

Earlier it was reported that the alliance strengthened the eastern front. It was noted that 130 aircraft, more than 200 ships “from the high polar latitudes to the Mediterranean” are in a state of combat readiness there.

Recall that on February 21, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees recognizing the independence of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR), and on February 24 he made an emergency appeal to the Russians and announced a special military operation in Donbass. In his speech, he stated that “circumstances require decisive action from Russia” and stressed that “Russia will not allow Ukraine to have nuclear weapons.”
