One dead and one injured left a criminal attack on Los Colonos avenue. It happened when the victims went to their home, in the Carlos Ruiz Bermeo pre-housing cooperative, in the city of Santo Domingo, in the Tsáchila province, on the afternoon of this Monday, the 7th.
The victims were traveling in a black Toyota Crusier vehicle, around the La Orangine roundabout.
Upon reaching one of the traffic lights on the avenue, the settlers were intercepted by a white, double-cab truck with several occupants, said Álex Coba, deputy chief of the National Police, of the western district of Santo Domingo.

Based on the ballistic evidence found at the crime scene, the assailants would have used rifle-type weapons. Darwin Molina Cedeño, 47, who apparently was driving the car, died from the burst of shots. His 20-year-old nephew was injured and is in stable condition, it was said.
The wounded man got out of the bullet-riddled vehicle and was helped by people who witnessed the violent attack.
The murderers fled in the same truck, which had tinted windows and was without identification plates, Coba said.
