The law also excludes the possibility of probation and deferment of serving a sentence for persons convicted of committing a crime against a minor under 14 years of age, under Art. 242 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Illegal production and circulation of pornographic materials or objects”).

Increased criminal liability is introduced for forcing a minor to sexual acts in the form of imprisonment for up to six years with or without deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to ten years.

It also provides for criminal liability for not promised in advance harboring serious crimes committed against minors under 14 years of age. As a punishment, a fine of up to 100 thousand rubles is provided. or imprisonment for up to one year. In the case of especially grave crimes, the fine will increase to 200 thousand rubles, and the term of imprisonment will be up to two years.
