Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law that tightens anti-corruption legislation in terms of the possibility of withdrawing money in favor of the state from the accounts of an official if the amount exceeds his income for three years. The relevant document is posted on the official portal of legal information.
Recall that on March 2, the Federation Council approved a law on the recovery of funds from the bank accounts of corrupt officials to the federal budget.
Illegal incomes of officials, deputies and all those who annually, on duty, submit income and property declarations will be written off from the accounts to the state’s income. It will be possible to lose funds if the amount of receipts on the bank account turned out to be higher than the total income of the official’s family for three years, and the legality of receiving money has not been proven.
At the same time, officials and deputies retain the right to clarify the sources of funds.
The law also gives the Prosecutor General and prosecutors subordinate to him the right to initiate through the court the recovery of doubtful funds into the income of the Russian Federation if they exceed the amount of 10 thousand rubles received in the reporting period on accounts with credit institutions.
