The manager of a hotel was shot down in an establishment that offers this temporary stay service on Calle 22 between Argentina and Portete, in the southwest of Guayaquil.
This case is added to other violent acts that have occurred in recent hours in zone 8.
Danny Cabrera, deputy chief of the Portete District, indicated that after the alert received at 11:30 p.m. about several firearm detonations, the police units were mobilized.
At the entrance of the hotel, the agents found the lifeless body of Olimpo Mejía, 63 years old.
At the site, in addition, at least ten ballistic evidence was collected and the body was lifted for transfer to the Judicial Police morgue.

According to the first inquiries, indicated the deputy police chief, the investigating agents determined that the alleged perpetrators would be two people, a man and a woman.
They rang the bell of the hotel, before which the citizen opened the door and the attack was immediately carried out.
“It can be seen in videos that the investigative units have that, at the moment of ringing the bell and entering, (the man) was immediately victimized,” he said.
For now, the police officers continue with the investigations with the review of cameras and the taking of testimonies from residents to have more details of the characteristics of the possible perpetrators in order to find their whereabouts.
The Police have not yet determined the possible motivations for this fact. The victim had no criminal record.
