The Ostankinsky District Court of Moscow sent a Muscovite Sofia Attarova under arrest for five days under Part 2 of Art. 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (organizing or holding a public event without filing a notice of its holding in the prescribed manner), RBC reports with reference to the press service of the court.

As Attarova told the agency, she was detained on the evening of March 1 at the Fonvizinskaya metro station using a facial recognition system. The police considered her post on Twitter on anti-war topics a violation, the girl added. According to her, she was asked if she was at unauthorized events, but she did not attend any. Later she was informed that she had been detained under Art. 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses for a tweet published on February 24, but did not specify for which one. The girl suggested that this was a repost of a petition from Change.org.

Recall, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin made an emergency appeal to the Russians and announced a special military operation in the Donbass. In his speech, he stated that “circumstances require decisive action from Russia” and stressed that “Russia will not allow Ukraine to have nuclear weapons.” In response to Russia’s actions, Western countries (USA, Canada, European Union, Great Britain, Japan) announced new, tougher sanctions against the Russian Federation, including financial and economic ones.
