Subscribers of Ukrainian mobile operators will not be able to call the numbers of Russian operators, RBC reports with reference to the message of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine (Gosspetssvyaz) in Telegram.
According to the report, measures have been taken to prevent the transfer of information from Ukrainian phones to Russia and Belarus. Also, such restrictions apply to subscribers using fixed-line communications, the State Special Communications Service added. In addition, mobile operators have limited the ability to activate recently purchased SIM cards.
Recall that on March 1, Ukrainian mobile operators blocked access to their networks for phones with Russian numbers.
Recall, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin made an emergency appeal to the Russians and announced a special military operation in the Donbass. In his speech, he stated that “circumstances require decisive action from Russia” and stressed that “Russia will not allow Ukraine to have nuclear weapons.” In response to Russia’s actions, Western countries (USA, Canada, European Union, Great Britain, Japan) announced new, tougher sanctions against the Russian Federation, including financial and economic ones.
