Pico y Placa restriction returns to Quito from November 1

Vehicles will be restricted in two schedules, from Monday to Friday.

On the morning of this Wednesday, October 27, the mayor of Quito, Santiago Guarderas, announced that from November 1 the Pico y Placa vehicular mobility plan.

The vehicle restriction will be applied according to the last digit of the plates, from Monday to Friday. The impediment schedules will be from 05:00 to 10:00 and from 16:00 to 21:00. Outside these hours there will be free mobility.

The weekends and holidays will have free mobility 24 hours. For this reason, the measure will be applied as of November 4, due to the Deceased holiday.

This will be the restriction by plates:

Weekday Restriction
Monday Vehicles with license plates ending in 1 and 2
Tuesday Vehicles with license plates ending in 3 and 4
Wednesday Vehicles with plates ending in 5 and 6
Thursday Vehicles with plates ending in 7 and 8
Friday Vehicles with license plates ending in 9 and 0
Saturday, Sunday and holidays Free movement 24 hours

This measure applies only to the urban area of ​​the capital. Therefore, the valleys of Los Chillos and Tumbaco have free mobility.

The limits for the application of the Peak and Plate are:

  • North: Calle de los Narcisos (unrestricted road), from Córdova Galarza avenue (Higher Police School) to Simón Bolívar avenue (Villorita bridge).
  • On: Up to the Catahuango bridge, S63 and S60 streets, Guamaní industrial area, Albán de Romero (unrestricted roads).
  • It is: Simón Bolívar Avenue (unrestricted road).
  • West: Avenida Mariscal Sucre (with restriction) to Avenida Córdova Galarza and Calle de los Narcisos.

The capacity in public transport remains at 100%.

In addition, they announced that the Sunday walk will be from 08:00 to 16:00, the schedule was reduced since it used to last until 6:00 p.m. (I)
