In the capital, because of the cruel treatment of a parrot named Vanya, a criminal case was opened. This is reported by AGN “Moscow” with reference to a source in law enforcement agencies.

According to the agency, the incident occurred in an apartment on the fourth floor of a residential building on Friedrich Engels Street in the Basmanny district of Moscow. An adult man, in front of two children, grabbed a bird, began to squeeze it in his hand, and then threw Vanya out the window. The bird injured its wing and frostbitten limbs.

The case was initiated under clause “b” of part 2 of article 245 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“cruel treatment of animals in the presence of a minor”).

Earlier in Severodvinsk, two tormentors of the domestic cat Kuzi were sentenced. Roommates Anna-Victoria Gromovich and Artem Lavrentiev received real terms.

Also, we recall that in February, the defender of the English football club West Ham United, Kurt Zuma, was fined 250 thousand pounds (about 25 million rubles) for kicking a cat. The football player admitted his guilt and repented.
