Criminal court declared the factual appeal filed by the Prosecutor’s Office to deny the judge’s appeal for dismissal in favor of Dalo Bucaram and Gabriela Pazmiño

The Prosecutor’s Office filed an appeal that was denied by Judge Guerrero because it was considered untimely, but then he raised that appeal to insist on his request.

A criminal court declared the factual appeal presented by the Prosecutor’s Office to the denial of appeal ruled by Judge Ronald Guerrero on the dismissal in favor of by Gabriela Pazmiño, Abdalá and Michele Bucaram Pulley, within the investigation for alleged organized crime.

With this resolution, the criminal chamber will have to process again the appeal filed by the Prosecutor’s Office against the three people and Marco Sevillano, which was rejected by the judge in May 2021.

The Prosecutor’s Office presented an appeal that was denied by Judge Guerrero as being untimely, but then he raised that factual appeal to insist on his request.

Currently, this judicial case remains in the trial stage for the alleged irregular sale of drugs to public hospitals. In the case, Paúl Granda, Jacobo Bucaram Pulley, Daniel Salcedo, Noé Salcedo, Luis Jairala, Jorge San Lucas, Karina Cadena, Pablo Mendoza, Jorge Henriques, Federico Zenck, Susana Mera and Javier Jordán are being investigated. Another of those dismissed was Stefano Adum.

Last December, the prosecutor Claudia Romero decided to issue an abstentive opinion for Gabriela Pazmiño and her brother-in-law Michel Bucaram, because she did not have sufficient evidence against them, but the provincial prosecutor reversed the opinion and changed the prosecutor. (I)
