The Santa Elena Police apprehended two men and a woman as the main suspects in an attempted murder recorded on the afternoon of Monday, February 28.
That day, a man identified as Carlos GG, 31, was in the Entre Ríos neighborhood of the Santa Elena canton, when a subject got out of a taxi and chased him, shot him in the left foot and fled the scene.
With the characteristics of the vehicle and the license plate, the Police activated an operation that culminated in the capture of Andy Alberto DS, 26 years old; Genesis Nicole AV, 27; and Carlos Gregorio PC, 27. Of the three detainees, none has a criminal record.

Colonel José Vargas Alzamora, provincial commander of the Police, explained that in the first instance the vehicle was stopped in Ballenita. Within the flagrante delicto, a building was reached in which they found evidence, among them, a 9-millimeter caliber pistol that the woman tried to hide.
In addition, the investigative agents collected $94 in cash, 308 grams of marijuana, four mobile terminals, 12 9mm caliber cartridges, a yellow vehicle and a motorcycle.
For now, the Police investigate the motivation of the attack. “We presume that there was a desire to harm that person directly,” Vargas said. (I)
