“The Association of Educational Institutions of Art and Culture accepted the decision to recognize the DPR and LPR with understanding. There is no doubt that the tragedy and uncertainty in the lives of the people of these republics had to be put to an end. In the history of Russia, more than once there was a need to provide assistance to the fraternal peoples, including the Ukrainian ones,” the message says.
The signatories note that “an information war has been launched against Russia.” Under such conditions, “it is extremely important to understand the responsibility that lies with the faculty, those who are trusted by students, those who can clearly and truthfully explain the features of what is happening,” the document adds.
The university rectors said that they would “suppress any provocative appeals, competently explain to students the origins and algorithm for resolving the current situation, and provide financial assistance to Ukrainian students if necessary.”
