Greece has suspended the issuance and renewal of residence permits for Russian investors – the so-called “golden visa” program. According to European Pravda, the country’s Ministry of Migration clarified that the suspension applies to both pending applications and new applications.

Applications for a residence permit in the category of “business executives” for Russian citizens will also not be considered under a special order.

Earlier today, EU foreign ministers agreed on new sanctions against Russia. The package of approved measures includes sanctions against Russian businessmen and officials, the closure of EU airspace to Russia, and the disconnection of “certain banks” from SWIFT. The European Union also agreed to ban the broadcasting of RT and Sputnik.

Recall, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin made an emergency appeal to the Russians and announced a special military operation in the Donbass. In his speech, he stated that “circumstances require decisive action from Russia” and stressed that “Russia will not allow Ukraine to have nuclear weapons.”
