IOC withdraws Olympic medals from Putin, Chernyshenko and Kozak

The International Olympic Committee has withdrawn Olympic orders from Russian President Vladimir Putin, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation in charge of sports, Dmitry Chernyshenko, and Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Dmitry Kozak.

The reason was a special military operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.

Earlier, the IOC Executive Committee recommended that international sports federations and organizers of sporting events not invite or allow the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes and officials in international competitions.

On Monday, it became known that the Czech national football team refused to play with Russia in the play-offs at the World Cup, and Dynamo Riga was withdrawing from the KHL.

The International Judo Federation, due to Russia’s military operation in Ukraine, has suspended the powers of Russian President Vladimir Putin as honorary president and ambassador of the organization.

The IJF has decided to cancel the international Grand Slam tournament, which was supposed to be held in Kazan.

FIFA has decided that international competitions will not be held in Russia, and “home” matches will be held on neutral territory, without spectators. A member association representing Russia must participate in any competition under the name “Football Union of Russia (RFU)” and not “Russia”. In matches involving teams of the Russian Football Union, the flag or anthem of Russia will not be used.
