Four resource practices that can be performed by the whole family in order to relieve emotional stress were listed by family psychologist Lyudmila Petranovskaya in her Telegram channel. These tips are part of a memo compiled by a psychologist at the beginning of the pandemic. Under the current conditions, these tips are still relevant, Petranovskaya noted.
The first practice is called “Secret Friend”. Its essence is simple: in the evening, everyone pulls out a note with the name of another family member and the next day does something good and kind for him, but so that the “ward” does not guess. The next evening, everyone discusses who did what and who guessed what.
The second practice is “Today I liked it.” In the evening, at the table, family members take turns talking about what good things happened to them during the day.
The third practice is “Pleasant Feelings”. Households in a circle name pleasant sensations. The game takes place in several circles. The first is visual sensations, for example, looking at the fire, squinting at the sun, looking at the stars. The second is auditory, for example, listening to rain, the purring of a cat, drums. The third is tactile sensations, such as feeling warm earth, snow, silk, grains of sand on the soles of your feet. Fourth, smells. Fifth is taste.
The fourth practice is “I’m doing well today.” Each family member should continue the phrase: “I’m doing well today, because …”, and the rest support him.
“Important: during resource practices, no one criticizes, corrects or educates anyone. You can combine them with evening tea or with bedtime. You can start a separate ritual, for example, gatherings on the balcony with candles, ”Petranovskaya emphasized.
