The curfew in Kyiv will continue to operate, said the mayor of the Ukrainian capital Vitali Klitschko in his Telegram channel.

According to him, on the morning of Monday, February 28, the enhanced curfew will end, but the restrictions will not be lifted at all. In the future, they will operate as before from 22.00 to 7.00.

During these hours, transport in Kiev is prohibited, except for those with a special pass. It is also forbidden to go outside. “Those people who will be on the street at this time will be considered members of sabotage groups,” Klitschko added, urging the people of Kiev “not to be in danger and to follow the rules.”

An enhanced curfew was introduced in Kyiv from 17:00 (18:00 Moscow time) Saturday to 7:00 Monday. Currently, the metro of the Ukrainian capital operates only in shelter mode. Air raid sirens sound several times a day in the city.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin made an emergency appeal to the Russians and announced a special military operation in the Donbass. In his speech, he stated that “circumstances require decisive action from Russia” and stressed that “Russia will not allow Ukraine to have nuclear weapons.”

In response to Russia’s actions, Western countries (USA, Canada, European Union, Great Britain, Japan) announced new, tougher sanctions against the Russian Federation, including financial and economic ones.
