The National Police arrested eleven people after nine raids carried out in the south of Guayaquil.
The operation carried out by agents of the Anti-Drug Investigation Headquarters and other police departments took place in several sectors of the Los Esteros district, last Wednesday afternoon.
They dismantle a gang that sent drugs through the ports of Guayaquil. Police say detainees were released in January when they tried to contaminate a container
Within the investigations, based on citizen complaints, the agents identified that several homes were supposedly used for the sale of drugs, said Giovanni Ponce, National Director of the Anti-Drug Investigation Headquarters.
Among the evidence found in the interventions are 265 grams of cocaine, 13 grams of heroin, 142 grams of marijuana, $142, three pistols, three revolvers, three knives, 31 ammunition, two motorcycles, five cell phones, a bulletproof vest, a balance, a feeder and documents.
In turn, the eleven arrested were placed under the orders of the judicial authorities to resolve their legal situation.

“We will continue to carry out operations in these districts in order to neutralize organizations dedicated to micro-trafficking and in the same way, neutralize the issue of violence,” he asserted.
At the national level, so far this year, the National Police has seized 37.28 tons of drugs, of which 2.9 were destined for internal trafficking. 1,600 citizens have been apprehended in these operations. (I)
