Armed men who arrived on two motorcycles fired at people who were gathered in a house in a central neighborhood of the Jujan canton, in Guayas, near the Baquerizo Moreno park, according to its inhabitants.
For this hit-man style attack there are four fatalities. Two died on the spot, while the remaining two died in two hospitals in Babahoyo, local digital media report. There is also talk of wounded, who would have been taken to health homes.
The deceased were gathered at a party when the armed subjects arrived and opened fire. It happened around 8:00 p.m. on Thursday the 24th. According to local media, children were also in the sector at the time of the shooting.
The digital media outlet Lider Informativo EC, which made live broadcasts after what happened, indicated that one of the fatalities was identified as Daniel Jácome, a police officer who was at the scene. His relatives confirmed his identity.
The uniformed man was injured after the attack and was taken to a clinic in Babahoyo (province of Los Ríos), a town near Jujan, where he died minutes later.
The bodies of the victims were taken to nearby morgues for the autopsy of the law, while the Police investigate this new violent event. (I)
