Citizen was murdered on the avenue of the Americas, north of Guayaquil

This Thursday morning, February 24, a man was stabbed to death on Avenida de las Américas and Benjamín Rosales, in the north of Guayaquil.

The man was injured with a knife apparently during an argument with two other individuals, according to the first police inquiries.

The victim, of foreign origin, was allegedly stabbed by one of these two people.

Given the alert, reported after 11:00, Police and Fire Department personnel moved to a sidewalk on the Via de las Américas, next to the viaduct that leads to the Narcisa de Jesús highway.

At the scene, paramedics confirmed that the injured person no longer had vital signs.

Minutes later, police vehicles arrested two people suspected of having had an argument with the deceased.

Meanwhile, Criminalistics teams were in charge of analyzing the scene. As part of the work, they collected a white weapon that was abandoned in a garbage can located about 30 meters from the site where the deceased man was left.

During the work, a section of Avenida de las Américas that leads to Av. Rosales was blocked, so the cars that sought to go to the Guayaquil land terminal had to use alternate routes, such as the traffic distributors of the viaduct that leads to the Narcisa de Jesús highway.

After 1:00 p.m., agents lifted the victim’s body and transferred it in a Legal Medicine vehicle of the Ecuadorian Transit Commission to the morgue of the Judicial Police, in the west of the city.

With this case, Zone 8, made up of Guayaquil, Durán and Samborondón, adds at least 198 violent deaths so far this year. (I)
