A woman around 30 years old was shot to death inside the house where she lived, in the Santa Martha 1 neighborhood, on the banks of the Esmeraldas River.
It would be an alleged femicide, recorded at 2:00 p.m. this Wednesday, February 23, according to preliminary investigations, revealed Joffre García, police commander of the Esmeraldas district.

The attacker fled after committing the murder and therefore the police search system was activated. Two hours before this event, the body of a man was found in a ravine in the Colinas Hermosas sector, west of the city.
The man was found naked with buckshot and stab wounds. Apparently he was taken from his home by unknown assailants who took his life near where he lived.

The motivation for this violent death is being investigated by special police units, Garcia said.
