In the Nueva Prosperina sector, a second crime is recorded in less than 72 hours

On a muddy street, on the outside of a garage, was the body of a murdered man the afternoon of Tuesday, February 22, in New Prosperina, populous area of northwestern Guayaquil.

This is the second crime in less than 72 hours in that same area. Last Sunday night another man was shot dead about ten meters away from the same house.

So far this year, at least 196 violent deaths have been recorded in Zone 8, made up of Guayaquil, Durán and Samborondón.

In the violent act of this Tuesday, people who were traveling by motorcycle repeatedly attacked Víctor Malavé, 24, who -according to police records- has no criminal record.

Within the first proceedings, personnel from special units reviewed the security cameras and took versions of witnesses to find those responsible for the event.

According to preliminary versions, one of the individuals who were on the motorcycle was wearing Jean blue and black sweatshirt and the other, white t-shirt with black shorts.

Eight ballistic signs were found in the sector.

“Yes, I cried a lot when justice was done, although I will never see him again,” says a woman who achieved, for the death of her son, one of the nine convictions in Guayas since 2021

Another similar event was reported a few meters from that sector. A man was shot to death outside a home. He was part of the 19 fatalities that were recorded between last Friday and Sunday.

In another case, yesterday afternoon, a man was injured after a gunshot attack occurred in block 9 of Bastión Popular. The victim was taken to a nursing home. (I)
