On the morning of this Monday, February 21, 2022, the Municipality of Quito held an event to present the “Bicentennial à la carte” campaign, which aims to recover the ingredients and dishes served to the armies of the battle of Pichincha in 1822.

The event took place in the north patio of the Metropolitan Cultural Center, in the historic center of the city.

The restaurants will have an emblematic dish of the bicentennial what It will remain on your menu all year round. In addition, the hollows of the city will also be part of the initiative.

Cristina Rivadeneira, manager of Quito Tourism, pointed out that this campaign that seeks the promotion and positioning of the Quito gastronomy will be executed from February to December.

In addition, he pointed out that several influencers and the media will be invited to publicize the different proposals that national and international tourists will have at your reach.

“After an investigation process,” said Rivadeneira, Quito Tourism will train establishments about the letters and reports of the food that was served to the armies commanded by Antonio José de Sucre.
