Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev on February 22 to negotiate a declaration on allied cooperation. This was reported by the press service of the Kremlin.
The report says that Putin and Aliyev will discuss the evolution of bilateral relations in the political, trade, economic and humanitarian spheres, and following the results of the talks, a declaration will be signed, designed to bring relations between Russia and Azerbaijan to the “allied level.”
In addition, the meeting will consider the implementation of the agreements between Putin and Aliyev and Armenia on Nagorno-Karabakh dated November 9, 2020, January 11 and November 26, 2021, as well as the restoration of economic and transport ties in the South Caucasus.
Recall, on February 22, the State Duma will discuss the aggravation in the east of Ukraine. Also on Tuesday, an extraordinary meeting of the Federation Council will be held. It was originally scheduled for March 2nd. The official agenda is a law on raising pensions for veterans of military service.
It should be noted that, according to the constitution of the Russian Federation, the approval of the majority of deputies of both houses of parliament is necessary for the use of the armed forces abroad. Analysts do not rule out that the new date for the “invasion” of Ukraine may be February 22.
