The Canadian Foreign Ministry recommended that its citizens not travel to Belarus due to the risk of a “conflict” with Ukraine, the press service of the country’s foreign ministry said.

“Avoid non-essential travel to Belarus due to the risk of arbitrary application of local laws and the risk of armed conflict with Ukraine,” Reuters reports.

Earlier, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that the continuation of the Russian-Belarusian exercises suggests that the scenario of aggression against Ukraine continues to be implemented.

In addition, according to him, the development of the situation in the Donbass confirms that the US forecasts regarding the alleged “invasion” of Russia into Ukraine are justified.

Prior to this, the US State Department urged Americans to immediately leave Belarus and Transnistria. The report also noted that the recommendation related to “arbitrary application of laws”, the risk of detention, an unusual and worrying Russian military buildup along Belarus’s border with Ukraine.
