The state of emergency is introduced in the Penza region due to refugees from Donbass

The state of emergency (ES) is introduced on the territory of the Penza region due to the arrival of refugees from the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR) in the region. This was reported in the official Telegram channel of the government of the Penza region.

“From February 21, in the Penza region, an emergency regime was introduced for the authorities, the system for preventing and eliminating emergencies. The corresponding order was signed by the Governor Oleg Melnichenko,” the report says.

Earlier, the state of emergency was introduced in the Rostov, Voronezh and Kursk regions and may spread to the Saratov region.

We add that a train with refugees from the DPR and LPR arrived in the Kursk region, according to the website of the regional administration. The region received about 1 thousand people, in total it is planned to receive more than 1.5 thousand. The Volgograd region received 443 people.

Now the situation around Ukraine has escalated due to shelling, and the LPR and DPR have announced general mobilization, the population is being evacuated to Russia. Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to pay refugees 10 thousand rubles each, and more than 30 regions of Russia expressed their readiness to accept the population of Donbass.

The interim head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation Alexander Chupriyan said on Monday that more than 61 thousand refugees from Donbass had already crossed the Russian border.
