The British authorities plan to lift restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus, including mandatory self-isolation for people with a positive PCR test and for those who have been in contact with patients.

On Monday, Prime Minister Boris Johnson will deliver a message on how the country will “live with COVID”, according to the press service of the British government. It is expected that in the morning he will meet with the Cabinet and agree on a plan for further action, then he will inform the parliament, and in the evening he will hold a press conference at which he will tell the details to the media.

However, a Downing Street report said the government is aiming for a “vaccine-based” approach, in which life with the virus will depend on “strong population immunity provided by vaccines.” As Johnson said, the authorities of the country “finally return to the people their freedom, continuing to protect themselves and others.”

At the same time, the UK government’s Emergency Advisory Group (SAGE) believes there is “significant uncertainty about the path the pandemic will now take in the UK.”
