The escalation of violence does not stop in Guayaquil. On the morning of this Sunday, February 20, the residents of a block of Popular Bastion woke up with a disturbing finding.
On one of the sidewalks of block 2 of this sector of northern Guayaquil, a decapitated body of a man was found.
A resident indicated that from a red vehicle they would have abandoned the victim, before 07:00.
According to a police report, the body would have been decapitated by an explosive device.
During this morning, neighbors approached the scene where the remains of the victim were left. There, several lit candles next to a pool of blood.
Meanwhile, police officers were responsible for collecting the remains of the victim, who would be 21 years old.

Uniforms reviewed cameras in the area and intervened in a house in the area, one block from the site of the discovery, to try to find clues about the event. For now, police investigations continue.

In blocks 7, 9 and 10 of Bastión Popular, the detonation or discovery of explosive devices has been reported on at least nine occasions between 2021 and 2022.
About these cases, weeks ago, the Police reported that there are criminal groups dedicated to micro-trafficking, which in this way demarcate their territory for the sale of drugs.
This morning, around 11:00, the discovery of the body of another man with several bullet wounds was reported in the La Ladrillera sector, in Flor de Bastión, northwest.
