Western countries should now introduce “preventive sanctions” agreed upon in case of a Russian invasion. This was stated by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, DW reports.

He stressed that there was no more time for “endless discussions”, “Russia must be stopped right now.” According to him, there is every reason to apply “at least part” of the sanctions. Kuleba also accused Moscow of violating the “Minsk agreements” and urged to be ready for any scenario in the conflict with Russia.

At the same time, the minister stressed that “Ukraine does not plan and does not conduct any offensive military operations, provocations, sabotage and shelling of the territory of the Russian Federation.”

It should be noted that in recent days the conflict in Donbass has escalated. As of the morning of February 20, cited by Kommersant, a total of 125 violations of the ceasefire regime were counted in the DPR and LPR, and 122 in Kiev. Since February 18, the republics have been evacuating the population to Russia. It is known that more than 40 thousand refugees from Donbass arrived in the Rostov region. The governor of this region, Vasily Golubev, announced the introduction of a state of emergency in the region due to the increase in refugees from Donbass.
