Guayas reports 51% of the total homicides nationwide.
The prefect of Guayas, Susana González, announced that a system will be installed on roads in the province to identify the mobilization of livestock, identify faces and transfer weapons, in order to combat crimes. In addition, a comprehensive security plan will be created.
In a session with about 30 councilors, González said that it is also necessary to demand the resources that correspond to the province from the National Government; also, that all the given implements are displayed, such as cars, motorcycles and equipment.

Colonel Fredy Sarzosa, commander in charge of Zone 8, said that the last weekend there was a drop in violent deaths, in the first week of the state of emergency. (I)
