“We remind you that Russia throughout its history has never attacked anyone. And Russia, which has survived so many wars, is the last country in Europe that even wants to utter the word “war,” he said.

According to Peskov, Western statements about Russia’s alleged plans to invade the territory of Ukraine lead to a escalation of tension. At the same time, “the president himself does not pay attention to this, but in general, such statements, of course, are such an element of a provocative nature.”

Peskov clarified that when the situation is heated to the maximum, as it is now on the line of contact in Donbass, any spark or petty provocation can lead to irreparable consequences.

Putin’s spokesman recalled that NATO, the United States of America, Great Britain are sending cargo planes with weapons, ammunition and so on. He will add that at the same time, the authorities of Ukraine receive a diplomatic and political “protection” – if at least someone crosses the border of Ukraine, no matter for what reason, then there will be “hellish” sanctions against Russia. Then, he said, Russia would become a pariah. “Does this provoke Ukraine to solve the problem of Donbass by force?” Peskov noted.

Earlier, US President Joseph Biden said that Russia’s “attack” on Ukraine could happen “in the coming days.” Moreover, he expressed confidence that Putin allegedly decided on an “invasion”. The American leader added that the United States will not send its soldiers to Ukraine, but will continue to support the Ukrainian people. According to Biden, if the attack happens, the United States and its allies are ready to impose new “severe sanctions.” Moscow denies these accusations. The newspaper Politico “set” a new date for the “attack” of Russian troops on Ukraine – February 20. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that “the plan of the Russian Federation, in a certain sense, has already begun to be implemented,” referring to the escalation of the situation in the territory of Donbass.
